Community

You are not alone in this.

A moderated space for people living with air hunger and breath distress — to share what helps, ask honest questions, and find others who understand what it actually feels like.

About the Forum

A specific kind of space,
for a specific kind of experience.

Air hunger is not well understood by most people who have not lived it. Describing it to friends, family, or even clinicians can feel exhausting — the sensation is real, urgent, and hard to put into words that land.

This forum exists for people who already know what it is. You do not have to explain it from the beginning. You can ask what actually helps, share what you have tried, and find people who are navigating the same terrain.

The forum is moderated, health-focused, and built on the same principles as the One Primal Breath™ framework — no medical advice, no miracle claims, no shame. Just honest conversation between people who understand.

Voices

What members are saying.

These are illustrative composite voices drawn from the kinds of experiences people with air hunger commonly share — not attributed to any specific individual. Real member voices will be added as the community grows.

Living with COPD, 12 years

COPD

“The part nobody tells you is that you can be breathing — actually breathing, lungs moving, chest rising — and still feel like you are suffocating. I spent years thinking I was doing something wrong. Learning that this has a name changed something. It did not fix my lungs. But it changed how I move through the episodes.”

12 years post-diagnosis

Post-COVID breathlessness

Long COVID

“My oxygen was always normal. Every test came back fine. And doctors kept looking at me like I was anxious rather than symptomatic. Finding a community where people just… already knew what I was describing — did not need the explanation — was more relief than I can put into words.”

18 months post-infection

Caregiver perspective

Caregiver

“Watching my mother have an episode and not knowing what to say or do was one of the hardest things I have experienced as a caregiver. Having a protocol — three actual steps I could walk her through — gave me something to do with my hands and my voice instead of just standing there feeling helpless.”

Caring for a parent with advanced COPD

Anxiety-overlaid breathlessness

Anxiety & Breath

“For me the hardest part was that my breathlessness and my anxiety feed each other. I could not tell which came first anymore. The exhale-first idea broke that loop in a way that ‘just calm down’ never did. It gave me something mechanical to do when the cognitive part of me was already out the door.”

One Primal Breath™ teaches the framework — the science of air hunger, the Primal Breath Response™, the 3-step protocol. Unuvivo is where many OPB members take that framework into active physical practice.

Unuvivo offers evidence-informed breathwork and movement practices designed for people managing chronic respiratory and nervous system conditions. It is a natural complement to OPB — not a replacement for it, and not affiliated in a way that affects your OPB experience.

“OPB gave me the map. Unuvivo gave me somewhere to walk every day. The two together changed my relationship with breathlessness more than either would have alone.”
